Winter 2019 - Chloroform Parfum
This sweet-scented chemical was favored as a powerful anesthetic and sedative from the mid-1840s through the late 1920s, but was ultimately abandoned due to its regrettable tendency toward sudden death. It causes rapid depression of the central nervous system, ultimately resulting in coma and respiratory depression. Assuming one wakes from their chloroform-induced micro-coma, its use has been linked to various forms of cancer as well as liver necrosis, so it's pretty much a bad time all around.
