CASSIOPEIA - The Queen - Named for Cassiopeia, the queen of Aethiopia, wife of King Cepheus and mother of Andromeda. She was placed in the sky as punishment after boasting to Poseidon that her daughter was more beautiful than the Nereids. She is visible year-round from latitudes above 34°N 

Brightest star: Alpha Cassiopeiae (Schedar), though the constellation is home to some of the most luminous known stars.
